SPEED CAMERAS
SPEED CAMERAS - a smear campaign?
In my opinion: It does not surprise me why they don't have static speed cameras in Spain - It's because every time they put one up, it gets smashed. How terrible! and what a very un-British thing to do, it's just not subtle enough for us I suppose! However I feel I should comment on reports of a very naughty practice that is taking place in some areas of the U.K. where people are actually distorting the images the camera takes by simply spraying paint over the lens and it appears the very sophisticated are actually smearing Vaseline over the lens window. I would assume the petroleum jelly is easier to remove but more difficult to detect. I suppose the first that is known about it is that the pictures don't come out and with the introduction of the new digital cameras that the authorities are constantly boasting about, that could mean several thousand motorists escaping prosecution. There is a camera at the bottom of my street - perhaps I'll go and see if anyone has already smeared it. I must make absolutely clear that I am only reporting on this situation and totally disagree with it!!
Thank you S.F. of Berkshire. Your £10 discount voucher is on it's way.
